Johnny Quiz is an interactive pub quiz app. This page explains what data the Johnny Quiz Android app (the "app") and the Johnny Quiz web host dashboard (together, the "service") collect and how it's used.
Johnny Quiz is operated by an independent developer. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to shepherdmark1968@gmail.com.
The app does not collect precise location, contacts, or any advertising identifiers, and does not include any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Pubs that host quizzes create an account with a name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) to log in and manage their quizzes and schedules.
Data described above is used solely to operate the quiz: matching players to the right session, scoring answers, displaying leaderboards, and letting pubs manage their quiz account. It is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Quiz, participant, and score records are retained on the Johnny Quiz server for as long as the hosting pub's account remains active, or until deleted. You can ask us to delete data associated with a specific quiz session by contacting us at the email above.
Data is transmitted to the Johnny Quiz server over encrypted HTTPS/WSS connections. Pub account passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text.
Johnny Quiz is intended for use by pub patrons and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
